Policies and APA Regulations

Advance registration is strongly recommended. Payments can be made by credit card or check. If you prefer to pay by check, please contact Dr. Amy Rosett at info@insightsintoaging.com at least two weeks in advance of the class.

Full attendance is required; no partial credit is offered.

Cancellation requests must be received in writing two weeks in advance to receive a full refund. There will be a $30 processing fee. If Insights into Aging needs to cancel a class, the registration fee will be fully refunded, applied to the same class when rescheduled or applied to another class.

There is no financial or other commercial support for programs offered or to the instructors unless otherwise noted.

Insights into Aging will make all reasonable accommodations to meet the needs of participants with disabilities. Please contact Dr. Rosett with any questions and to discuss specific needs as far in advance as possible.

Any complaints by participants will be handled promptly, respectively and with confidentiality. Please contact Dr. Amy Rosett for the written grievance policy. If you prefer, you may contact Dr. Stacy Reger.

Please note that the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) accepts CEs from APA approved sponsors, allowing LCSWs, MFTs and LPCCs to earn CEs.

Insights into Aging is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Insights into Aging maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Once you have purchased your homestudy course, it is yours to complete on your own time. There is no expiration date.

Each course lists the number of CE credits awarded, based on instructional time and APA requirements. Most of our courses offer 2 or 3 hours of CE.

Participants receive a CE certificate after:

Completing the full program

Passing the post test (for homestudy courses only, per APA requirements)

Certificates are delivered electronically and formatted for easy storage or upload to licensing boards.

No. We provide certificates that meet APA standards. Reporting requirements vary by state and type of licensure. Participants are responsible for tracking CEs and submitting certificates to their licensing boards independently.

At times, we offer courses that are well suited to other adjacent professionals who might work with older adults, such as attorneys, fiduciaries, care planners, caregivers, and others seeking aging related education.

Some of our courses are well-suited for older adults and their families, such as adult children, partners, or friends of older adults looking to increase their knowledge about a certain topic, such as navigating caregiving as a family or understanding dementia.

Many of our programs satisfy state specific requirements for cultural competence/diversity, aging related training, or elimination of bias education. This varies by state and licensure type, so we recommend you compare the course material and objectives to your state’s licensing board standards. In California, most of our courses meet the Board of Psychology continuing professional development standards for cultural diversity/social justice, as they relate to aging. Whether a course meets your licensure requirements for a certain topic area is up to the individual licensee to determine.
