Insights into Aging is a continuing education (CE) company, dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based CE programs for psychologists and others with knowledge, clinical skills, cultural competency, and ethical decision-making to serve older adults with dignity, respect, and excellence.

Most things aging-related! Our courses focus on the full spectrum of aging-related practice, including psychotherapy, assessment, neuropsychology, capacity assessment, ethics and culturally responsive care, caregiver issues, long-term care, ageism, Medicare issues, and so much more. They are developed by geropsychologists and other professionals with expertise in aging.

Our courses are designed primarily for psychologists, neuropsychologists, geropsychologists, social workers, LMFTs, LPCs, LPCCs, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Certain courses are well suited to other adjacent professionals who might work with older adults, such as attorneys, fiduciaries, care planners, and professional caregivers.

Additionally, undergraduate and graduate students studying mental health with an interest in older adults would benefit from our courses.

Yes. Some of our courses are well-suited for older adults and their families, such as adult
children, partners, or friends. These courses cover topics such as navigating family caregiving, the aging brain, and understanding dementia.

Yes. Our courses are designed to educate clinicians at all levels of experience and specialization, from early career psychologists seeking foundational knowledge to seasoned professionals expanding into geropsychology. Graduate students can learn about topics that are of interest and not covered in their graduate school program.

Yes. We offer advanced-level courses, sometimes as a multipart series, to cover a topic with the depth required to increase one’s clinical skills.

Yes. Many of our programs satisfy state-specific requirements for cultural competence, diversity, social justice requirements, as well as requirements for aging-related or implicit bias education. These requirements vary by state and licensure type, so we recommend you compare the course material and objectives to your state’s licensing board standards. In California, our courses meet the Board of Psychology continuing professional development standards for cultural diversity/social justice because they focus on aging. Whether a course meets your licensure requirements for a certain topic area is up to the attendee to determine.

We integrate cultural, socioeconomic, and diverse identity-related considerations into every course. Our courses emphasize consideration of cultural and diversity variables, such as intersectionality in aging (known as gerodiversity), health disparities, the importance of inclusive assessment and communication strategies, and cultural variations in caregiving, decision-making, and end-of-life values.

Yes. Insights Into Aging is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. We maintain responsibility for all programs and their content. The specific APA regulations are described in the Policy section of our website. Many states accept CE credits from APA-approved sponsors for mental health professionals who are not psychologists. Please check your state’s rules.

We offer both formats.

Live courses, using Zoom, are synchronous and thus interactive with the instructor and other attendees. There is the opportunity to ask questions and make comments with the “chat” feature, which is monitored by someone other than the instructor. This ensures that the course material can be presented as planned and that questions are answered in a timely fashion.

On-demand courses, which we refer to as homestudy, are available for flexible scheduling and self-paced learning.

We offer technical support via email. Most issues can be resolved by refreshing your browser, checking your login credentials, or using a different device. If you are having trouble accessing a live course, we encourage you to check your internet connection and speakers. On our website. All of our upcoming live classes and homestudy classes are listed there, with links to register and pay.

Live class registration includes the date and time in Pacific Time (PT). After you complete the registration and payment for the class, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this confirmation email, either in your inbox or spam folder, please contact us at info@insightsintoaging.com. The link to access the Zoom presentation and the course materials will be emailed the day prior to the course, for live courses.

Homestudy class registration generates an email with a link to open the class, along with any course materials you will need.

There is no expiration date. Once you have purchased a homestudy course, it is yours to complete on your own time schedule.

Each course lists the number of CE credits awarded. The number of CEs is equal to the instructional time, per APA requirements. Most of our courses offer 3 hours of CE.

No. We provide certificates that meet APA standards. Reporting requirements vary by state and type of licensure. Attendees are responsible for tracking CEs and submitting certificates to their licensing boards independently.

Yes. We provide discounted rates for group registrations, healthcare companies, professional associations, and other organizations. Please contact us directly to discuss group rates.
